Murakami Belts 26th in White Sox Winner over Guardians

CHICAGO — That’s a White Sox Winner!

Munetaka Murakami belted his 26th home run of the season as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 6-3, and brought their four-game losing streak to an end.

The victory did more than stop Chicago’s recent slide. It also extended the White Sox lead in the American League Central to three games, giving the South Siders some valuable breathing room in the division race.

Murakami once again delivered the biggest swing of the night. His 26th homer provided another reminder of the power and presence he has brought to the middle of the White Sox lineup throughout his first season in Chicago.

The timing could not have been better.

After four consecutive losses, the White Sox needed something to change the energy surrounding the club. Murakami supplied that spark, and Chicago responded with six runs against one of its closest divisional rivals.
