Fever Get Even With Wings, 98–87, as Clark Makes Her MVP Case
Indiana scores 35 in the fourth quarter; Mitchell extends her record streak and Bueckers answers with 29 in defeat.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever did not lead at halftime. They did not lead after three quarters. When the league’s highest-scoring offense finally found its full rhythm, however, the Dallas Wings could not hold it back.
Indiana poured in 35 fourth-quarter points Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, turning a three-point deficit into a 98–87 victory and evening the season series with Dallas at one game apiece.
Caitlin Clark delivered the kind of complete performance that belongs in any serious Most Valuable Player conversation: 29 points, 10 assists, three rebounds and only one turnover in 34 minutes. She shot 11-for-18 from the floor while controlling the pace of a game that demanded patience before it rewarded aggression.
Kelsey Mitchell added 23 points, extending her WNBA single-season record to 18 consecutive games with at least 20. The streak is not a curiosity anymore. It is a nightly standard, and it gave Indiana another dependable scoring engine when Dallas forced the Fever to work for everything early.
Dallas Earned Its Lead
The Wings arrived short-handed, without Azzi Fudd, Jessica Shepard and Aziaha James, but played with purpose. Dallas held Indiana to 35 first-half points and carried a 37–35 lead into the locker room. Paige Bueckers matched Clark’s 29 points, adding six rebounds, six assists and two steals in 37 minutes. Arike Ogunbowale scored 20, while Awak Kuier contributed eight points, six rebounds and three blocks.
Dallas pushed its advantage to 66–63 through three quarters. Bueckers repeatedly created good offense, and the Wings protected the paint well enough to keep Indiana from separating. This was a competitive road effort from a team fighting for playoff position, not a collapse waiting to happen.
Then the Fever Turned Up the Heat
Indiana’s fourth quarter was the difference. The Fever shot 53 percent for the game, scored 50 points in the paint and committed only nine turnovers. Clark and Mitchell carried the headline, but Tyasha Harris changed the temperature off the bench. Harris scored 15 points in 17 minutes, made all five of her three-point attempts and finished a game-best plus-20.
Aliyah Boston supplied the interior balance with 16 points and 10 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass. Indiana finished with a 34–31 rebounding edge and outscored Dallas 13–7 in transition.
The Wings were still efficient at the free-throw line, making 18 of 20, and Bueckers kept applying pressure. The separation came from shot quality. Indiana made 39 of 74 field-goal attempts, while Dallas finished 31-for-72 and only 7-for-29 from beyond the arc.
What It Means
The result moved Indiana to 22–12 overall and 13–6 at home, while Dallas fell to 20–15 and 10–9 on the road. The Fever won their third straight and answered the Wings’ 107–104 victory in the season opener. One regular-season meeting remains.
Indiana’s offense has been the league’s most productive this season, and Friday showed why. The Fever did not need to dominate all 40 minutes. They needed one decisive quarter, disciplined possession from Clark, Mitchell’s relentless scoring and a perfect shooting burst from Harris.
Dallas leaves Indianapolis with a loss, but also with evidence that its best player can stand toe to toe with the league’s brightest guards. Bueckers was excellent. Clark was excellent. The difference was the strength and precision of the team around Clark when the game reached its final ten minutes.
